White nails
Full white, white french and white–pink ombré for hands, white for feet — and a black-and-white press-on for contrast. White is the colour that looks cleanest and forgives least.
White, four ways
- White: even, clean, no excess shine, across the whole nail. In summer on tanned skin, in winter next to dark clothes — it reads deliberate in both.
- French White: sheer base, white tip, the line already drawn on the wrap. The classic french, the one you see across a room.
- White–Pink Ombré: almost sheer at the cuticle, full pink towards the tip. For anyone who wants the white without white everywhere.
- White Pedicure: the same clean white, cut for toenails, up to four weeks.
And, as a press-on, Black and White: clean contrast, nothing raised, made by hand.
Why white asks for more care
A light solid colour shows everything: a wrap lifted a millimetre at the cuticle is visible at once on white, and not on light pink. That is not a reason to avoid it — it is a reason to spend the extra thirty seconds at the start. Nail degreased right before the wrap, wrap a millimetre from the skin, edges pressed before the lamp, tip filed downwards. The five tricks were written, in good part, for white.
White and nail shape
Full white visually shortens the nail; white only at the tip (french) lengthens it. On short nails, the white french looks better than full white, and on very short nails the pink french beats both. On long nails, full white is the one that looks most "salon".
How it combines
Full white with a single finger of coloured glitter is the holiday combination; white with white french on the ring finger is the office one. Both come out of two sets and leave spares.

Questions about white
Does white yellow?
Cured gel does not change colour from water or soap. What can stain any light colour is prolonged contact with dyes — hair dye, turmeric, some self-tanning creams. Gloves when dyeing and rinsing straight after cooking take care of it.
Full white or white french for a first time?
White french. The sheer base takes the colour of your own nail, so a small imperfection at the cuticle does not show; on full white it does. Once the french comes out perfect, full white is the next step.
Does white work on short nails?
The white french, yes. Full white visually shortens the nail and on a very short one can look "stuck on". On short nails, the pink french or the white–pink ombré look better than full white.
